Was the problem that some C6s had with bad harmonic balancers limited to certain years? or is it still a problem with C7s ?
Did they have it figured out by 2012? My 2012 3LT base vert kinda wobbles, but I have read here that a little wobble is ok. I can watch the path of the belt through the pulleys and its straight, meaning the belt isnt moving around between the pulleys.
Some say yes and some say no but nobody knows for sure. Some have replaced then on 2013s and some early years have had no problems. I have worried and watched it wobble for 4 years and 60,000 miles and was told by the local Corvette guru that when it goes I will know for sure. I think they all wobble some.
Its a common concern. Mine has always wobbled, dealer says its within tolerance but can't say what the acceptable limit is for run out. My belts don't chirp and the wobble hasn't gotten any worse so I'm leaving it be. BTW its not a balancer, it doesn't balance anything. It dampens the twisting and recoiling that results from the crank flexing after each firing impulse so as to prevent the crank from self destructing when its natural harmonic frequency is reached (pardon my amateur knowledge of physics if that isn't 100% accurate) Apparently it can still function properly with a certain degree of wobble.

Is my HB a ticking time bomb ?
It was a problem on C5's and on C6's, I haven't heard anything about C7's.
