C7 of the Year - Unmodified Finalist 2021
Default C6 vs. C7

Now that spring is here, I have had the opportunity to see way more C7's on the road...I don't know if it is just me but the C7 looks like it is taller and higher off the ground (not saying that it is) than the C6 and doesn't seem to have that low and wide mean look. Kind of has a "sports coupe" look rather than "sports car." I am wondering if anybody else had made the same observation?

They each have their own look and I loved my C6Z but IMO the C7 is simply gorgeous....pics don't do it justice. Love the sharp lines and angles, makes it look very modern.....not sure it looks taller though...measurement needs to happen

Total overall height is almost the same. C6 coupe is 47.8" high, C7 coupe is 48.0" high. C7 is 1.3" wider.

frpm the back, the c6 looks bigger and wider....the c6 is roomier inside.
can't really tell the difference from a c6 when a c7 is coming toward me on the road except for maybe the "retainer" in the grill.

c7 does look more modern on the side and back facia.

c7/z06/vert would be choice when and if i make the switch.

I came up on one today while riding my motorcycle. From a distance I saw a blinker come on and I suspected it was a Camaro. No lie.

Yep, seeing them from the back does make you think that you're looking at a Camaro at first.

I recently at nighttime mistook a Camaro for a C7. I quickly discerned what it was but you can't argue there's not a common styling cue. I still love the C7, and hope the extra ground clearance means less scraping of the front air dam. I know the scraping doesn't do any damage for the most part, but I still cringe every time mine scrapes.

My wife likes the C7 better, so we went to the dealership and I looked at few in person. I can't stand that ugly front grille or the stupid points at the bottom of the front end. The head lights are an improvement and I like the rear fenders and grilles, and the hood is cool, but the rear end leaves a lot to be desired! It just looks too thin on the ends where the vents are behind the tires and the rear tires are too narrow after looking at my GS. The interior seems to be ergonomic, but feels tight. I am 6'3" and i fit no problem. I think it feels tighter in the drivers seat because of the dash layout. It appears to wrap around you, but it is an illusion mostly. I think it has just as much room.
In addition when looking at the C5, my C6 and the C7, I noticed the trend has been to move towards sharper edges and a more chiseled look. On some levels it is appealing, however I still favor the C6 widebody. So if I decide to get any further in debt, it will be to purchase a ZR1.
That's just my humble opinion.

We love our c7 , had a 2009 coup, 2013 427 vert. sold the 427, worried about valve drop and titanium rods rubbing blowing the engine .

It's not just you. I too feel that it looks taller and higher than all C6 models, even if it's not. Still looks really nice overall, except for the rear (the look of the whole rear, not just the lights). I may own one before too long, but for now I'm lovin' the crap out of my C6.

Been looking at quite a few and test drove a 14 vert. It seemed about the same height wise as my C6. Super ride. Loved everything about it except the seat bolsters. They were uncomfortable.

I've also noticed a few while driving at night. The tail lights look great (very unique).

This is not a C7 bashing thread but merely to see if others also thought the C7 "looked" taller and less mean than the C6. I understand that based on dimensions it is not the case but reality and perception are two different things.

I did see a picture once on here with the two parked side by side and the C6 did look a bit lower and wider.

I agree the C7 looks to have more ground clearance. One can see lots of rode underneath.

Meaner I am not sure. The C6 is more smooth looking. The C7 has lots of edges .

Expressing opinion equates to bashing. To all forum members...from here on out, no one is allowed to express an opinion on the C7

It is higher.I pulled up next to one and that was the first thing I noticed. Do I care? No because in all likelyhood I will never be able to bring myself to spend any money on one because I can't get passed the overall look.Don't like it at all, regardless of it's technology. That's my opinion. Hasn't changed since day one although for a brief second I considered buying a used 14...I think I was sick that day...
