So in the process of changing my skid plate I notice 2 wires just hanging out freely. Need help with determining what are they for and where they go. They are on the passenger side neat the horn. one are yellow and the other is green with black.

I'll guess its for the under hood light if you had one. I think I read when GM deleted the light they left the wires.

The service manual for my 2006 show these wires connect to the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor that is located on the RH Lower Radiator Support.

what he said. I have them also and was going to hook up the light but changed my mind after reading about a lot of issues causing the Battery to die.

On a 2006 the under hood light wires are OR and BK.

I took two photos of these wire on my 2009 so you can make them out at the censor.
This is from the top down at the passenger side to the left of the horn attached to the radiator.

From the top down hooked to a censor on the radiator.

Did you cut off the connector or was it already that way?

Wire colors can change from year to year, so it would be good to have some info on your car. Someone who has the service manual for that year can then look it up on a wiring diagram and tell you for sure.

Is your climate control system operating properly? I have heard of cases wherein the ambient air temperature sensor was inoperative that the A/C/Heater/Defroster does not work right.
