Default Hawk Ceramic Brakes

I'm getting ready to install a set of Hawk ceramic pads in the J56 brakes on my 2013 GS. I just can't stand the dust anymore.

Included with the brake pads are packages of Hawk "GearHead Grease" High Temp Lub. Instructions are to coat back side of pads. Is this necessary as I don't want the grease to end up on the pad lining or the rotor.

That should be to help prevent the squeaking, lots of times the back of the pads will rub on the piston and cause a squeaking sound, also where the pad edges meet the calipers is a rub spot. If you don't have the small metal brackets to hold the pads secure, then maybe a thin coat of grease will help prevent that noise.

Use a thin film. You'll be ok.
