The longer that lasted, the less I watched..Down to none this season and I don't miss it anymore. I still checked the results the next day or so, but I even gave that up late in the year.

Have to admit I gave up on the NFL also. Don't think I watched one regular season game. I did watch the Chef's game just because..... and will have the not so super bowl up on the big screen tomorrow. That whole kneeling thing angered me as does a lot of things these days. It seems the older I get the more pissed off I am..... I need to be more mellow......mellow yellow.....a mellow fellow..... I like the word mellow. that reminds me of a song.......

At the Huskers home games there were a few players that knelt down when Riley was here. The whole State was outraged and buried the University in letters and emails and made threats as to cutting off their generous contributions to the athletic department. All of a sudden the National Anthem is played while the teams are still in the locker rooms before the game. Problem solved..... Husker fans opened their wallets again......

Kinda. Same with NFL...if the rule is you stand and pay respect to the flag then do it or don't suit up. Simple. The NFL has since gotten all touchy feely with the military to make themselves look better. That just made them more hypocritical to me.

A trucking company businessman met a beautiful girl and agreed to spend the night with her for $500.
They did their thing, and, before he left, he told her that he did not have any cash with him, but he would have his secretary write a check and mail it to her, calling the payment “RENT FOR APARTMENT.”

On the way to the office, he regretted what he had done, realizing that the whole event had not been worth the price.

So he had his secretary send a check for $250 and enclose the following typed note:

Upon receipt of the note, the girl immediately returned the check for $250 with the following note:

“Dear Sir,

#1 – I cannot understand how you could expect a beautiful apartment to remain unoccupied indefinitely.

#2 – As for the heat, there is plenty of it, if you know how to turn it on.

#3 – Regarding the space, the apartment is indeed of regular size, but if you don’t have enough furniture to fill it, please do not blame the management.

Please send the rent in full or we will be forced to contact your present landlady.

Well, you should be angered. Not because the players refuse to dance like puppets on a string but because they're right, there is a bunch of bullshit and corruption going on with our nation that is only going to get fixed by bringing it to people's attention. It was no different than what Muhammad Ali did in the 70s with Vietnam. Just a different forum.

I don't know about you but I can't swear allegiance to a country that murders innocents daily or has the wildly unbalanced racism that still goes on. Beyond that is the religious bias of the National Anthem that should have never been added in the first place. Still going, the history of the Pledge of Allegiance is on that same page.

I don't give a **** about the NFL either way, but a good American speaks out when crimes are committed. These men worked hard to get to a forum to voice the words for change and effectively sacrificed a long lucrative career so that things can change. Sounds pretty American to me.

And, in my opinion, they worked hard to get a job that gave them a paycheck and 15 minutes of Fame. They were/are not on "a forum to voice the words for change". They were employees of a team franchised by the NFL and the NFL (supposedly) had rules. They had six days and twenty hours per week to get their voice heard and work their cause. Most chose to do it Sunday afternoons.
Put on your Burger King shirt and report to work for your Chick-fil-A shift. Tell them you don't believe in their Christian values and won't wear their shirt.

If you mean by the murder of innocents this countries abortion laws then I support that part of what you say completely.....but just try to get that overturned and you will get slammed so hard you will never be heard from again. Unbalanced racism? I grew up in the 60's and our generation knows what racism is or was and I will tell you it's a lot better then it used to be old pard..... nobody has to sit at the back of the bus now unless they want to. Everyone can go to any school they want, work anywhere they want, eat anywhere they want. It takes hard work and perseverance to get where you want to be in this country and anybody can do that if they get after it. Don't give me that bullshit about how unfair this all is to the minority's.... Ask Ed Welburn of GM fame how America works, or any other of the million's of folks of all races that have pulled themselves up by their bootstraps every day for year after year and became successful in their endeavors. What ruined a lot of folks was Government handouts that turned them into slaves to that socialistic system......and now they want more and more and more. Screw that! You want a better living or conditions get an education or a trade and get your *** to work like the rest of us did.

If it is so bad here why are millions trying to get in? Every Government is going to have corruption and greed. At least we have laws that try to keep that in check. I see a lot of folks bitching and moaning everyday but I also see them enjoying the fruits and opportunities this great country has to offer. If it is so bad then I suggest they just leave and go somewhere else where it is perfect and live there... nothing stopping them....go...go find that utopia that is out there....see how long it takes to realize that will never exist as long as humanity is humanity. **** Kaepernick, I love it when folks bitch when their mouths are full.

Millions of those people want to get in because of systematic events of what we've done globally. Sure, everyone agrees that these people deserve to migrate to better lives....as long as it's somewhere else. What kind of trade or education are these people going to learn and where?

So as long as things "aren't as bad as they use to be" we can stop improving? Ridiculous, those welfare handouts are being utilized by whites more than anyone else and that racism that "isn't so bad anymore" is still wildly enforced in Law enforcement and the privatization of the Prison Industry. Sentences are not fair and people are making billions off minorities going to jail. Do you think that crime profiteering is what the founding fathers were going for by working hard and making your earnings? How about our tax system? Grand daddy trump fucked the government out of millions of it's "fair share" of tax dollars.

So **** off with your backhanded millenial comments. I was trained to fight for people that can't, literally. I run two business and pay MORE than my fair share of taxes, on top of training 20-30 hours a week and volunteering on weekends. I know exactly what hard work is.

I don't believe it empathy, or kindness, I believe it being fair, which is a whole lot ******* harder.
