...I forgot to mention the nice gals down at the county office asked me if my car had black or Chrome wheels....... I said...what does that matter? She said well we know the folks with black wheels can't afford as much so we discount their rates..... I mean if they had money they would have Chrome wheels right? I said that is so true...... So I told her I had Chrome wheels........ things can get weird up here in Huskerland....

Never bet against a Grand Sport........and then you have to read Post #18647.....
I cannot tell a lie......its a sin.......plus they have folks that come out and check your car to make sure it has dazzling Chrome or faded flat black wheels....... it really should be the other way around to help stamp out black wheels......the scourge of the new age in hot rodding.......

once you go black, you never go back..........
agreed on the "new age" thing................... some look like cars of yesteryear without the wheel covers on................ SOME remind me of taxi cabs or other vehicles of low regard......

Registration in Texas for my 2012 Grand Sport is $66.25. I just renewed online in February. I’m shocked at the cost that others pay in some of the other states!

On a completely unrelated topic........
We finally got the GS out of the garage for the first roadtrip of the year! A close friend is selling all his non-essential vehicles and property to pay for his wife's Alzheimers care. Yesterday was her last ride in the Corvette, so I would have gone no matter what the weather. It was the first dry day here in some time, but only 35 when we left the house. Went to a Tribal Casino about 80-85 miles away for lunch and a little gambling. Found a nearly empty parking lot and I won $16 (hey, that IS a big deal, I usually lose my $20 allowance!).

hoping the Mother Nature gives us a break here and I can get mine out and on the road before the end of April.........
seems we went directly from somewhat warm weather in early October to winter overnight, and it hasn't let up since......
we did have a 60 degree day in February......... but at that time still had snow measurable in feet on the ground..........
almost doubled your allowance.............. extra money for green fees...........
Masters weekend coming up.............. always nice to see the scenery of Augusta in the spring...........

...So I called the nice ladies down at the courthouse and told them there must be some mistake......they said there was and I made it when I bought that exotic high powered sports car....with dual exhaust and chrome wheels no less........ what were you thinking? they asked...... I dunno.....just wanted to have some fun I guess.......enjoy life you know..... nobody enjoys life around here when there is 3.00 corn said they.......now what's your problem......? I'm uh....paying to much for my plates on a 2010 car.....
Then they go on to tell me that the rates are set according to the MSRP of the vehicle.....then its a % of that......so I bought the car in 2012 and the plates were over $600 along with the sales tax at 5.5% of the purchase price......so since 2012 the cost of the plates have come down from 600 some to 466.......WTF......rip offs......damn.....
But she said that after 13 years there will be no MSRP taxes just the regular plate cost and road tax which is like 30 to 40 bucks a year......... I told here I was going to keep this car and never getting another car forever....... I wonder what the plates will be on the 56 Wagon........? Ha ha.....tricked them...... its past the 13 years........
anyway that is the end of that story.......so now I am with peace again with the world and have been spending time in the Tranquility Room getting my Chi balanced..... ahhh......... smooth.........ummmm........ummmmm...... .ummmm

...time for some Preaching......
So.....When I was going through the closet picking out the ole funeral suit I found this. I think I purchased it at the Corvette Museum and don't think I ever really wore it. It's a large but could almost be xlg in my opinion.
It's up for grabs to one of the regular Hammy's miscreants...
First one to PM me your address gets it...

IF you would want to donate it as a gift for a Silent Auction at our club's show in June, I can get you a tax deductible donation form for it for whatever value you decide on......................
whatever it would sell for would go directly to Leader Dog's for the Blind, as they are our charity of choice, and are on hand to ring up the sales from the Silent Auction at the show...............
your choice..................
I could fill in any questions you may have via PM if you decide to go that route..............
