H1, I have a couple places in mind but we will start with...Salt Flats:

This guy is my hero. The story is he did everything possible to save weight/streamline to get the record.

Luxurious transportation will be available...

For those that have never seen the movie if you are a speed freak you must...MUST...see World's Fastest Indian.
It may not earn the Good Housekeeping seal of approval but the LSDHL liked it!
That is all.

Hey guys.....thanks for the well wishes today. Fired up the grill this evening and grilled a couple T-Bones for the wife and I. Love that grain-fed beef. Wife made me an applesauce cake too........oh, you can't beat that with a stick. This evening I'm splurging, and having a margarita or two......or three. Otherwise, it was just another day for this old geezer.

I talked with Jim Travis over lunch at Bonneville last Summer. He was the historical source for the movie. He owned the Pumpkin Seed streamliner that Danny Thompson drove in the movie. Jim held several records at Bonneville and dry lakes with that car.

He was the primary restorer of the MT Challenger I and a bunch of other race cars. I donated several magazines for the photos to help restoration details. I didn't know Jim at the time, but a friend was part of the project and asked for my help.

Although I'm just as guilty, I can't believe all of us failed to remember the 2nd anniversary of our namesake's untimely passing. David Olshina (aka Hameister) left the building on Jan 5, 2016.

I agree. It sure doesn't seem like 2 years have passed.

I just passed a bad memory 10th year anniversary on January 7th. I survived a workplace shooting where 3 co-workers were killed and 7 others injured. It was the most helpless feeling I have ever had in my life because you have no idea what to do. I was one of the lucky ones; it was not my time to go. You tend to re-evaluate things in life when something like this happens to you.

On their way to get married, a young Roman Catholic couple is involved in a fatal car accident.

The couple find themselves sitting outside the Pearly Gates waiting for St. Peter to process them into Heaven. While waiting, they begin to wonder: Could they possibly get married in Heaven?

When St. Peter showed up, they asked him.
St. Peter said, 'I don't know. This is the first time anyone has asked. Let me go find out,' and he leaves.

The couple sat and waited, and waited. Two months passed and the couple are still waiting. As they waited, they discussed that if they were allowed to get married in Heaven, what was the eternal aspect of it all. 'What if it doesn't work?' they wondered, 'Are we stuck together forever?'

After yet another month, St. Peter finally returns, looking somewhat bedraggled. 'Yes,' he informs the couple, 'you can get married in Heaven.'
'Great!' said the couple, 'But we were just wondering, what if things don't work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?'

St. Peter, red-faced with anger, slammed his clipboard onto the ground. 'What's wrong?' asked the frightened couple.
'
OH, COME ON!', St. Peter shouted, 'It took me three months to find a priest up here! Do you have any idea how long it'll take me to find a lawyer?

Donald Trump and Obama ended up in the same barber shop. Each being worked on by a different barber, not a word was spoken.

The barbers were even afraid to start a conversation, for fear it would turn to politics.

As the barbers finished their shaves, the one who had Obama in his chair reached for the aftershave.

Obama was quick to stop him saying, "No thanks, my wife Michelle will smell that and think I've been in a whorehouse all day."

The second barber turned to Trump and said, "How about you sir?"

Trump replied, "Go ahead; my wife doesn't know what the inside of a whorehouse smells like."

I was thinking about what he said at Christmas Dec. 25th when I posted this but forgot about Jan 5th too...

"Soooooo true!
Last night, at a Christmas Eve party at a relative's house, as the children were running around, and the young people in their 30s were talking about their jobs, I sat comfortably sipping my EggNog.

I just couldn't help but think of memories, and thinking the same thing,....pretty soon, that's all that will be left.
It's a mixture of sad, yet thankful, at the same time."

Also, since it's important too, we should remember what else he said here. "Hey, I'm only responsible for what I say, not what you understand."

I guess that's a little bit subjective, but I found something once that seems to explain what it means, to me anyway. If you get past the short introduction and get to the end I think you may see what I mean...Just saying

well..... slept in on a cold day and see we have about an inch of new snow......

Thinking of what would be interesting to the huddled masses today...... more surfing girls......better not....might OD on that....... hmmmm....... I will do a search and see what I have come up with......

I'm thinking that the new Bar whiskey at Hammy's should be Jack Daniels Honey...... I had seen the ads and was curious what that would taste like ..... it tastes great..... smooth and a bit sweet with that warm JD glow to your innards....... I ordered a semi load for the Bar.... so get in here and get to drinking it......... next I may try the Crown Royal Apple........ fruit you know everyone needs a serving a day....... just saying.......

I bought some Crypto currency the other day......did I tell you this? anyway I bought in at .023 cents and last night it was worth almost .12 cents......... when bit coin started in 09 they were like a dime apiece ....... if you would have bought a $1K worth back then of coins you would be looking good today at $14K each......... course you can't spend any of it but they will figure that out........ I think...... Have a buddy bought in big time with $32K worth of coins..........that's a lot of coins....... my investment was far far less then that....

Keep on trucking Hammers.......... if the wheels ain't turning she ain't earning......

looks to be the one stolen or coerced upstairs by the influx of Huskerbucks or Ruxxbucks...................

now that she has been there for sometime, it appears that the ever changing, sleepy minds of the dozing GS'ers may have the onset of forgetfulness setting in.............. dazed and confused........... two words commonly associated to someone who buys a slower version of a sports car............ just sayin'.........

OK, back to the Jack D Honey....................

seems that the bottle donated to the hovel has run dry............

we would like another................... one way or the other..............

H1, thought about a possible "Hammy's BBQ" out there in the cornfields of NE later this year?????????????????????

would offer a "central location" for most of the regulars........... to meet up and have some fun........................ thought was the July timeframe if that works for the majority who may show interest......

since I didn't get any exposure to the "giant" grasshoppers heading to SD last summer.......... it may give me something else to look forward too...............

PM me if you think this may be something that could be pulled off............... also PM me if you and Mrs. H1 may be available in March for an AZ adventure..........................

I believe that's her younger sister! Same uniform though! We have to save money where we can. It'll keep the patrons around at the end of each shift!
