bought my 05 with 14k miles and now have 18k. Between the motorcycles and traveling for work I thought 4k was pretty good for one summer.

When I do take my personal vehicles for work travel, I prefer to take the motorcycles so the Vette get's weekend visitation.

YES I do park like that.

I park far far away in the furthest most empty parking lots...

I would NEVER park a car close to a store with limited parking... never mind take up two spots in such an area. Heck i don't even park my beater 2000 Sunfire close to the stores... I don't double park it but it gets parked the same distance away. I park where the LAZY people do not!

I have never had an issue because I have never inconvenienced someone by taking two "Choice" parking spots in the front of the store.

Somebody would have to go way out of their way to take issue with my parking... I'm typically so far away and most people are so lazy that would mean that they would have to exert energy to have such an issue. I dont mind the walk... keeps me in shape and my Daily Driver GS without dents and dings.

Fair warning, you're going to get keyed. Even if you park in lots with very few cars away from everyone, if you park like that you're just asking for trouble. If you're far away from everyone, why do you even need two spaces?

You're free to do whatever you want though, so feel free to ignore me.

Asking for trouble. Happens all the time. Maybe not getting keyed, but it'll annoy someone enough that something will happen one day.
Dont draw attention to yourself like that.

Thanks, I appreciate the concern... Based on my 27 years of driving and parking experience, I will ignore you.

Just some thought... Perhaps its where people chose to double park rather than the fact that they double park...

I have seen idiots double park in places that **** me off... not because they double parked but where they doubled park with limited available parking. In my opinion they do deserve to be keyed! Shoot, give me the key Ill do it!

But when you park out in the back where there are no other cars, your unlikely to be bothered.... Unless the entire parking lot is full... then you just need to either single park or go home and get the beater.

Somebody would have to go out of their way to key my car... And they would not be doing it because I doubled parked... they would have done it either way.

Its easy to give advice when you drive your car on weekends... I drive (And park) mine daily!

2008 z51 m6 with npp...@89,770

This car has been an absolute pleasure...

This is my third new vette after a 99 c6 z51 and an 01 z06 with cam and headers...

This 2008 has been kept basically stock except for a cow tune, a d shaped dsv steeriing wheel....an MGM shifter and a few interior touch point leather mods...

I did spark plugs and OEM wires, blistering shocks and new rotors and pads at around 55k miles just for fun.

One very highly recommended mod is the 40 dollar seat rebuild kit. It really made a huge difference. Basically it lifts and separates the foam under the driver seat and keeps it from slicing through the foam making the seat feel as good as new...I highly recommend this seat rebuild kit from one of the vendors on site...the bottom cushion foam now sits above the wires in the seat and it really was a nice improvement.

About every two years I have the dealership take out all the clutch fluid and replace...my c5 z06 had that clutch pedal sticking thing and the world class tech who services my cars told me that gm does recommend swapping out the clutch fluid every two years to make sure the clutch operates as it's supposed. It's an extra few dollars every two years...I believe it's under $100 and so I follow his suggestion as a preventative measure. Changed out the dex cool too as I believe it's only good for five years....again just as a preventative..

This car has been so good to me since new...I just can't justify selling it so Inexpensively...

Just such a fun daily driver that I keep garaged.

Resale would be so low....and it drives and looks like a million bucks...

Why take two spaces if you are far away from all other cars? I'm afraid there are people in this world that would look at you taking two spaces and it would **** them off just because they are looking for something to **** them off. They especially look for people who they are envious of also. I know you have not yet had an issue with this but I truly beleive it's only a matter of time until you do. Just trying to help man.

Those are some great tips...

I guess I'm just a lucky guy and my better judgement has had nothing to do with not a single vehicle I owned never getting keyed.

Again, just in case you missed it... I drive and park my 2011 GS every single day (unlike those of you giving advice) and I have done so for over 36,000 miles... To date, I have no key marks. I'm here to see other peoples beautiful Corvettes and not really here for parking advice...

I guess this is one of those times in a mans life where he should just mind his own business... and just ENJOY THE FREAKING CARS!

Wow, you are the king oh great one! I am following behind you with just over 140k on my 2008 Coupe 3lt. I have a much shorter commute these days so it will take me a while to hit that.
