I know that this has been beat to death, but I've been searching for a backup camera solution that does not take away from the HUD since getting my Grand-Sport. One of the car stereo places mentioned NavTool video interface as a possible solution. I looked it up and really am not sure about if it works or is worth it. Their web page says that it requires for radio to be sent in for internal modification and they then send it back at some point and you can hook up a backup camera to it.
I was wanting to see if any of you have used this and if so can fill me in on if it works and is worth it? I remember Lock-Pic or something like that was mentioned in the past, but it had issues and only good up to the 2011 model if I remember right. I tried getting a rear view mirror with OnStar, but there was not one with the interior lights that I could find and I do not want to replace the head unit. I could always go with one that clips to the visor or sits on the dash, but I just do not like the "Autozone" look that it reminds me of and the wife is against me trying to trade for a new C7.

The resolution on the factory nav is poor at best and if it could be done I don't think you would be happy with video quality even as a backup camera.

There have been several members here who installed a separate screen for the backup camera.

"LV2TOUR" built a screen into his sun visor, I think; someone else had a screen that flipped down by his knee.

You could try contacting Ray Kawal and see if he has a hack/harness/mod/etc for this.

But IMHO the only virtue of the OEM Nav/Radio with regards to the HUD is the turn by turn arrows and the brief radio station and SAT channel ID's.

Again just my opinion, but giving those features up for a much better aftermarket solution with more features and better performance makes more sense.

You are probably right, I need to just quit looking and waiting for someone to come up with something new and go that way. (my thoughts had been that if I waited someone would start selling a rear view mirror for us with the screen)
