paint it black...
It was a popular Rolling Stones song, but it seems to be the new theme. It seems the new fad is to paint everything black. I'm not going to be popular with some for saying this, but I like a little color in my world, and I really don't get this trend to blackout everything. Think how boring our world would be if everything was painted black! I know some people think cars and motorcycles look meaner in black, but things are getting carried away. If a car is black, it needs contrast...not more black, unless you want to camouflage it, so at night it will be invisible...lol.
But that's just my opinion, I like color and chrome or polished metal. So I am not trying to tell anyone what to do with their car, I just don't get the appeal. I always liked black and chrome. So perhaps that makes me old school, but I'm ok with that label.

Black is sharp lean wth chrome. But I like green better. Lol. This was originally yellow with a black interior. Was 99.9% was going to paint it black. You see a lot of black and really wanted to break necks. So glad I went with the green

I like it either way.
Both can look good or bad depending on the car. Corvettes look good blacked out but a corolla does not.
Like you said it is not up to us to tell anyone how to mod their car. I would not like to see every white corvette looking like mine. That would be boring.

Had mine black for years... its not a new fad.
I think certain cars look great blacked out, others not so much. I think it depends. I have gone through phases with my Vette, I have had stock painted wheels, chrome wheels, polished wheels, now Matte Black wheels. I love my current look, and that's all that matters, since it is MY car. If someone has a problem with it, well then that's their problem not mine.

No....black isn't the new chrome. That's just in some peoples opinion which has been and will be argued again many times....probably in this thread as well. I agree with the OP. Black is being abused. While it may look the best on just about every vehicle as far as the overall color, theres definitely too much of this black makes it look sinister stuff going on. Why would anyone want their car to look sinister. Never could figure that one out. So I guess the sinister lovers don't say to each other..."Hey, your car looks gorgeous"....instead they say...."Hey dude...your car looks absolutely sinister man". Something about that just doesn't sound correct....lOL.

Confused, I wonder why people do not let others do what they want to do? Why does everyone have to be the same as you for it to be acceptable. If someone blacks out their car what is it to you? Why do you care? Do you know them? Does it reflect on you? Why the need to have everyone be like you? How boring it would be for everyone to have the same wheels and colors......I swear if it was up to some people everyone would have their face too.

I used to love chrome wheels, but when I look at some of the cars I modded over the years, I can't believe I used to get behind the wheel of them. I'm on the black bandwagon!!!

These would be what I would do in gloss black if and when that time comes but for now they are out of my budget.
They are some of the best lookin wheels I've seem IMHO
Sure would look good on my Supersonic blue GS
