Go to the Autogeek website and watch their detailing videos. I bought the 6" lake country assorted pad set. Read the website about the different types of pass. It tells you what each pad color is for.
Check out the Chemical Guys website for a nice description on which pad to use for whatever your particular use is. Some are for heavy cutting, med cut and light cut while still others have no cut and are used for applying glazes, sealants and waxes. Use the buffer mostly for paint correction to get rid of scratches and swirls and also wax or sealant application then remove with microfiber towel by hand. Hope that helps. Watch some of the videos on their website also, they are really good to get you started. http://www.chemicalguys.com/Self_Cen...ufx_106hex.htm
use an orange pad with the appropriate compound for more aggressive cutting.
I use a white pad for the fine polishing with a less aggressive compound.
Use a clay bar to remove the existing was and contaminants before polishing
Auto geek is an excellent site. Also, go on YouTube and search Junkman videos. He is a Corvette guy who has a lot of very informative videos on polishing your car. I learned from him and my car turned out great. I knew less than nothing before the Junkman videos.
I use the Meguiars yellow polishing pad for light swirl removal, and the black finishing pad for final waxing.
You will still have to remove the haze from waxing with a micro fiber towel
Autogeek does have great videos for info

Thanx. Is there a pad that can be used to bring up a High shine after I remove the wax with the Micro Fibre towel? I normally use my old sears buffer and it came with a blue soft cloth buffing pad.
