My plan is to go into the dealership with as much knowledge as possible.
Symptoms:
Light comes on with DIC message after about 4 hours of driving. Right Rear reads XX. Sometimes LR will also join the party a few minutes later, also reading XX.
Recheck pressure readouts about 30 minutes later and RR reads 35. LR will also be reading normally.
Shut down car. Restart and TPMS light is off. Second time around the process starts after about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Front tires always read normally.
Trying to figure out if it's the tire sensors or the receiver. Any way to troubleshoot?
Is this the same receiver as for the Fob? A couple of times I've had to use the door open or hatch open on the Fob as the car didn't respond to proximity. All works as it should about 98% of the time.
You're right, it not always true. But what are the chances the OP has a radar detector bluetoothed to his phone which is plugged into the USB port built into the power outlet of the detector which is plugged into the cig lighter outlet?
If that's causing the problem it must be an anomaly in later model years. I constantly have a phone charger plugged into my ash tray and have never had a tpms error show up. Strange how one can have anything to do with the other.
Electronic devices can produce lots of harmonics...it would not be unusual for two chargers or phones to produce different results when it comes to interfering with radio signals.
