Default A really dumb question...

Okay, so I am a brand new C6 owner - new Corvette in general owner and I have a ridiculously dumb question that I need answered. So in the trunk, bottom left portion is a storage compartment and in there is a little mesh like item and I Have zero idea what it's for. I feel like a noob (okay, I am a Vette noob) but I searched youtube and Google has failed me

Please, let me know what that's for!

Could it be a cargo net?

It's more than likely a small cargo net. Throw it over your stuff, so, in the turns it holds things from rolling around.. FD

Has to be the cargo net. There are loops at each end of the net that hook over tabs at the back of the rear storage area.

Yeah, it stretches out along the entire back of the car. Really comes in handy during a day of shopping, especially if you have a bunch of round things to bring home. (like maybe wine bottles? Just guessing . . . )

Also a good place to keep things if you get the urge to screw the car around some curves.

There are no dumb questions, only dumb people who ask questions...

Just kidding, that is not a bad question at all. Assuming it is the cargo net, I just leave mine stretched across the back end of my trunk so it is always there when I need it. It doesn't really take up any significant space so there is no reason to put it away.

So there is a cargo net already there and it's created - this is something different - let me try and upload - one second...

"Mesh" is the cargo net that goes across the back and attaches to a hook on each side. "WTF" is the cargo shade that attaches to the hatch lid at 4 hooks and over the latch striker. I leave both of mine attached at all times. Some people buy a full length metal or wood rod and slip it into the bottom front of the shade to keep it from flapping as much when the windows are down.

BTW, dumb questions might be a nuisance but ignorant answers are what drive me insane.

Sometimes I'll post ball busting sarcasm answers meant to be funny. I'm not being ignorant. Guess it's the thickness of our skin that determines it. Now, did you read your owner's manual yet?

Never a dumb question. No body has the answer to v=everything, although there are some that seem to think they do. If you have the owners manual, I advise you read it, at least on the safety features. After the resent news article of the man and his dog dieing from being locked in his car it is a good idea to learn about the different emergency door releases.
If you don't have the Manual you can order one or even down load a PDF version for free on the internet. It is always good to have as many questions that you may have down the road may be answered in the manual.

Congratulations on your first Corvette. Enjoy, and don't forget to
