Getting called out to street race

Maybe he wants to surprise you with a shot of nitrous. I never get a challenge short of a Super Snake revving his engine one day at an intersection going in the other direction. One time a big Jag tried to beat me to about 130 or so on I-5 but that's about it. Looked very nice in my mirrors...

Take the race and see what happens, stop the superiority complex because you have a corvette.
I showed up to a local hangout spot one time in my 2005 GTO, I had a 150 shot of nitrous on it at the time that no one there knew about and had the bottle heater on the entire drive there "just in case". This stock looking integra called me out so I ran him from a 60 roll, figured I would show this kid a spanking and left the nitrous enabled for the first run... a few seconds later I wasn't seeing him in my side mirror so I looked over and his headlights were at my drivers door and he stayed there well past 140.
He asked to run again so I turned the bottle off just to see what would happen and I got train lengths put on me.
Turns out the kid built the car himself as a senior project, had a built motor with a decent sized turbo.

Like SK360 noted, there will always be a faster car out there and some of them will surprise you.
Bench racing has always been part of the fun of owning any high performance car. If you want to really see what's up, take it to the track and settle it, just not the street.

So I just bought my 2008 auto base coupe with NPP exhaust and I got called out on FB by a 4 banger Honda. I'm like, "WTF?". It's a 90 something Integra. I know the guy, family lol. His Integra has bolt ons and I don't if it's a type R or not. I laughted and told him to buy me rims, tires, and gas then I'll race him. I didn't buy a Corvette to street race or drag. I bought it b/c I've always like them and they look beautiful. The only Honda I like is the S2K but imo it's over priced. I know he won't be the last import to call me out. I deviated from the "norm" and bought a Corvette, I'm asian btw. I'm like, "no replacement for displacement".

I am Asian also and deviated from other Asian. I would not waste any time or energy. There is nothing to prove to anybody. You bought the car for your own enjoyment. I don't give the time or day to immature kids who is starving for attention. Don't make the mistake of street race or anything.

So, even if its prepped, its still a Honda ecobox. What are you going to gain? "I raced a prepped/turbo/whatever Honda".
Uh, Yeah. Win or lose -- you lose.
Not saying Hondas can't be made to be very fast -- they can. But so can literally every other car on the face of the planet, *if* you throw enough money at it. So?
A Honda econobox, even when its had a ton of money thrown at it to make it fast, still isn't in the same class of car as a Corvette, Viper, 911, etc.
