Mufflers
My neighbor has a stock Mustang GT. I love the sound of his car, a muffled but a deep throaty sound. Is there a muffler that will give me that sound in my C6? I don't want loud.

Your C6 won't sound like the Mustang no matter how hard you try. Different motors, different tunes, equals different sound. I would be very happy if I got get my C6 to sound like my Wifey's 13 Mustang GT. That being said there are some very nice after markets exhaust out there, albeit a little pricey, Corse, Borla, etc. You can get an idea of sound from You Tube clips, but it's not the same as in person. Also, www.borla.com has some good sound clips of their C6 exhaust. IMHO, the Borla Stinger may be right up your alley. Good luck.

Why would you want your car to sound like a mustang?
To get that sound, you need to GET A MUSTANG.
Too many variables that will dictate sound. Exhaust routing, muffler placement, type of muffler(s), cats or no cats, X or H pipe, long tubes or shortys or stock manifolds.
Not to mention the firing order between the 5.0 and LS engines are different, exact opposite IIRC. And that has subtle sound differences when you make the car louder.
I love the way an LS sounds. Nothing is better IMHO. A proper cammed LS will probably be one of the best sounding V8's you'll ever hear.
Represent that man.

Not sure how it compares to the mustang, but you may want to check out Magnaflow exhaust #15884, they are not too loud but IMO they sound deep when listening from the outside and not loud inside the car, this setup should have been stock from the factory, just what I was looking for. What type of mufflers are these?
I just bought a 2006 vette. It's so quite. I have been reading a lot of threads on the forum and looking at photos and parts catalogs of 2006 vettes and I can't identify of what type of exhaust/muffler system I have. Can identify what I have?

Mine has the NPP and although I haven't heard it from the outside it sounds pretty good to me, and you can quiet it down with the push of a button
