I know we talk to death about front plates being used...I am in New York and this State requires us to have a front license plate. My 07 doesn't have a place for the plate. I bought a hide a way bracket and i do not like it. Is there something else to get?
I use the same type bracket its ok but it does lower the clearance some and scraps on my driveway all the time and on dips on some roads but it beats the high mounted bracket the dealer had on it

My front splitter prevents any hide away system, so I will probably go with TopFlites removable center grill mount. It's ugly but a local LEO has made it his mission to jump on vettes with no plate. Been here 20+ yrs, nothing ever said until yesterday.
I bought the Top Flite removable bracket and paint matched frames. The plate mounts out of sight and two thumbscrews can quickly and easily remove the plate and frame. If you have to use a front plate this one is the best looking, IMO. I like it because it is centered and matches the contour of the front fascia.

Wow that really looks nice! I love how the plate is angled to fit right in there. I live in New York, and unfortunately we are required to have a front plate as well. If I'm alone I keep it tucked into the right side of the dash/windshield, and if I have a passenger I take it down and put it in the pouch I bought. If I get pulled over, I will put it in the window before he/she gets out of the car lol. I haven't been pulled over yet surprisingly, and I've been doing this for years. I've even driven right by cops who were using their radar guns facing me and they haven't come after me knock on wood.

Have you ever gone to OBI or Cap tree on Sunday mornings? State Troopers are a pain in the a$$. All over Ocean parkway. They bust chops all the time. They do not hesitate to give a ticket for not having a front plate mounted.
I cringe when I read someone say they put the front plate on the dash.
#1 - It's illegal (in Oregon and I assume most states), ORS states it is to be mounted on the "front-most" portion of the vehicle and a certain distance from the ground.
#2 - I have seen first-hand the aftermath of that 1/2-pound aluminum razor blade spinning through the cabin in a crash. It ain't pretty.
