I know that a 2006 C6 is not a classic or antique auto, but are there any companies that will cover it as a special interest, seldom driven car, at rates lower than normal rates for daily drivers?

Try Travelers insurance. I have mine as a pleasure vehicle with no mileage restrictions.
Ya I had insurance though Corvette Museum on my first C6, it had many exclusions, where youre covered and where your not.
It was half the price of my 2nd C6 tied to my regular policy but with that I never had to worry about where I was or if I would be covered or not...

I just bought a 2008 coupe last month and insured it through State Farm as my secondary vehicle at 5K miles per year for $67 a month.

Not bad. I'm with GEICO and paid under $300 for 6 months. Its for leisure and 5k miles a year. Why is it 5K miles a year when when we have to renew every six months?
As you know a lot of different factors determine your insurance premium. Age, zip code, credit report, tickets, accidents....
I pay $585/year with Erie. Vehicle is rated as pleasure use with 8,500 annual miles.
I have an Acura TSX as my daily driver, something like 1k a year, the vette costs me 800 a year for full boat everything. They are very cheap to insure because there's very few claims against them.
Yeah I just have it tied to my regular insurance, no mileage restrictions but since it is listed as "pleasure" then they restrict to no more then 2 days a week to work or 5 days in a 14 day period. About $700 year full coverage.
58yo, 2009 Z51 plus two other cars and two motorcycles and had GIECO off and on since 1970's (retired military and wasn't available overseas), no claims ever. Got a speeding ticket and they doubled my rates. Called to verify they were correct in the new rate... Now with Progressive for cheaper than GIECO before the rate increase. Insurance companies are crazy.
I use Hagerty for an agreed upon value of 15k for $250 per year. They want to restrict mileage but they can't in Texas. All policies are unlimited mileage in Texas.
