Well, it's time for a new splitter.
This is on my 2010 GS.
After hitting so many driveways and curbs it is broken.
Still there but it's not looking good.
Do I take it off or replace it?
If replacing, what is the cost and the time?
Is this something I can do or only the dealer?
Thanks, Kliph

Not to hijack the thread, but my splitter is messed up too. My problem though (which I think is fairly common) is that the center bolt was ripped so violently (pulled too far on a parking curb) from the valence that there is now a big hole in the valence. I am having trouble keeping the splitter attached at that point. I have tried big washers, toggle bolts, etc. They work for a bit but eventually always come out even though I have done anything but the normal scraping -- nothing more than that.
Mine unfortunately came that way too, what I did was put a roughly 6 inch piece of metal bar up in the bumper cover and then screwed that middle screw into that. So far so good, eventually I'll probably fill it in, but for now if is holding nicely.
As others have said, a buncha small screws and the splitter is off. Very easy.
I photochopped one of my photos to removed the splitter.
Frankly, I think the front end looks just as good with the splitter off, as it does on.
For me personally, the splitter is nothing more than a detrimental ornament.
If it should be damaged beyond repair, I'll just remove it.
Even if it cost as little as $25.00, (which is all it's worth), I wouldn't bother to replace it.
Just one man's opinion.

So what I ended up doing today was get a screw with a wing nut and two giant washers. I was able to get one of the washers and the wing nut end of the bolt up into the hole in the valence. I then sandwiched the splitter and the valence between the two washers. I was able to stick my finger into the hole to keep the wing nut from spinning as I tightened the bolt. Worked pretty well.
Additionally, I added some self tapping metal screws along the splitter in a couple of strategic spots. The splitter is now tight and flush up against the valence. Looks good... until the NEXT time I tear it up doing something stupid...
