Default Another New Guy

I am an avid Chevy guy and have owned a few Vettes over the years. The most current I bought new in '06 and have enjoyed it ever since. Haven't done much to it performance wise; I have added a few cosmetic interior/exterior enhancements to 'personalize' it. I am looking forward to learning a few things here, as well as sharing in some of the discussions. Here's a couple of pics:

How are those decorative wheel inserts attached? They look interesting.

Welcome!

Welcome!

Thanks and they are inserts. Went to SEMA right after I bought the Vette and there was a company (can't remember the name off hand) that had them on display; the last day of the show I talked the guy running the booth into giving me the set that matched my Vette. They are made out of a quality composite and the color matches great. I think you can now get them on line through a couple of different distributors. I get a lot of comments on them ...

They have a strong 3M adhesive backing; you clean the wheel with a dawn solution and then some alcohol pads, peel the tape off the insert, line it up and press it on. Due part of the insert going down into the lug nut 'hole', they line up pretty easily. I practiced lining a couple up a few times before removing the tape & going for it. Once they're on, they're on ...

I like how you personalized it. Kind of on the fence on the wheels but I bet you don't see another like it. I have an 05 dsom. Overall good job.

Does the owner keep it looking right like you do? Nothing makes me more mad than seeing what should be a beautiful looking c6 that looks like crap cause the owner doesn't take care of it. Not saying you have to wax it every other week but at least keep it washed and clean.

I've only seen it in passing, hard to tell, it looks fairly clean, but doesn't have the 'shine' to it. Definitely no 'personal' touches' to speak of, at least nothing noticeable. We have a few Vette owners here, mostly C5s and C6s, and now a couple C7s. Most keep them looking good, but there some that when I see them I want to cry ...
