7 state 1800 mile trip 5 days!
Will post pics. Skyline drive,no blue ridge parkway,Though wife saw enough trees. Then to Boone NC, Bowling Green Ky, Corvette museum was more than we expected. Assembly plant was another wow factor. Came back thru WV and Md.
WV was spectactular as was the Md. Cumberland Gap. Beautiful smooth roads, they were higher speed turns up and down the mountains. We did 700 miles in 12 hours with food, gas and rest stops. coming back speeds varied between 80 and 95 most of the time, 100 on occasion. averaged 23.6 mph. The new cat recall gave me no issues. If you go to the museum stop at Art's auto mart, by the museum he has a red top that is perfect conditon asking $700.00 and is negotiable has a cool collection of older vehicles for sale at great prices.

Sounds like fun. 7 states in 1800 though?! It took me 2000 to cover 4 (CA, AZ, UT and NV). I can hit 1000 from SF to LA and back! I guess that's one of the perks of the east coast though. I seriously need to travel more in our country. I've only driven through about 9+/- states? I used to travel internationally but figured there's so much to see in our own country, why not explore here in our own backyard and put money into our own economy.
I hope to have a few more road trips before Autumn/Winter hits. Shouldn't be hard since I already have 3 days off a week. Route 66 through CA and AZ at least. Visiting Oregon again would be nice too. I'll see how everything works out...

I'd call you a lightweight, but that would be mean.
From last Friday until yesterday (Wednesday), we too have driven over 1800 miles. And one of those days we spent at Niagara Falls and didn't drive much that day. That mileage covered 8 states and 1 Canadian province (Ontario), seeing 4 of the 5 great lakes and multiple museums. We averaged 26.6mpg.
These cars are fun to drive aren't they?
