As for XM antenna, was a wart on the halo on the 2005 model, and then moved inside the side rear view mirror instead from 2006 upwards.

outside sidewiew mirrors. The module itself for coupes is over the back driver side wheel well under the rug. Easily asccessed and swapped for a sirius module if so desired.Back in the day before they merged it made a difference which one you had..now,probably not so much. The black box is onstar..and yes,big brother can keep track of you with it..and in later model onstart actually shut down the car if it gets stolen and you're signed up....
Onstar module (VCIM) on the early models was in the rear hatch passenger hatch chubby area under the lid behind the carpet on the front side. On the early Z06 model since the battery was installed in the cubby campartment, the VCIM was installed under the passenger set instead. On the later models, it was moved to under the dash behind the glove box for all the models since with it mounted up in the dash behind the gloove box, not longer blocked either the power passenger seat module if such was to be installed, nor the battery location on dry sump motors.
As for the XM module, its located in the hatch area behind the carpet at the wheel hub on the hatches, and behind the center waterfall cover between the seats on the convertibles.
As for the XM module, started out as analog unit in the first C6's, and then with the Sirius XM buy out, went to digital instead. So if you need to updated the module if you do have a old analog module in the car (which will not work with XM now), the correct update module is a SIR-GM1.
thanks for all of the info. Now can you tell me how to stop it from falling off of the plastic tabs that hold it to the windshield. sometimes, when I am driving, after hitting a few bumps in the road. its just falls off, hanging by the wire that runs under the roof panel. very annoying !

I have the same issue, keeps falling down. I'm considering removing it entirely since I don't subscribe to Onstar, but first I need to find out what else would be affected. Read somewhere that bluetooth runs through that thing and I don't want to lose the connectivity of my phone.
