I agree with everyone's comments above There was a study done by forum member PowerLabs comparing various headers, and they were all close to each other. Meaning, some dyno measurable difference, but not enough to convince me one way or another.

My LG's do fit tight to the frame on the passenger side engine bay area, and the installers bent a small part of the floor panel (no harm, didn't bother me at all), just to prevent the chance of rattles. I also had one of my transmission cooler lines later rub near the passenger side cat, but I fixed that. 3" exhausts are big pipes

On the PFADT, they went out of business just when I went to install headers, or I would have probably had them on mine. They are back in business now.

Having said all this, IF I were to do it over, just due to the tremendous price difference, I would look hard at Hinson's 1 7/8" header setup, with high flow cats. They seem to be hungry to please the customer, and it looks like quality work.

The main reason people do it is to reduce outside temperature near the headers, mostly to protect the spark plug wires. I installed spark plug wire insulating boots, and have not seen any heat related issues, nor heard of anything out here on the forum for other heat issues (meaning not seen issues from others from NOT having their headers ceramic coated)

Default Headers

I went with the PFADT 1 3/4 and the shroud mod along with a small cam and love the set up. Headers fit like a glove (afternoon on jack stands) and I also the the GS dry sump. I didn't want to swap to a gauze filter as they flow more air, but also more dirt.

Running the NPP always open, no more radio requirement!! When I open it up, it sounds like NASCAR at WOT !!

I too have the 1 3/4' LG street series ceramic coated and it was a clean, install. They sound amazing passing thru the B&B bullets and no cats. The tunnel runs cooler and the engine runs 20 degrees cooler and my hypothesis is it is because of the ceramic coating of the headers and x pipe. The best mod I have done so far.

a definate difference in torque felt thru the butt dyno.
