Default 7 spoke wheels

I need a replacement wheel for my 2008 Z51, the 7 spoke type, I am not going to pay $700 for one like GM wants. Is there anyone that make an aftermarket "look alike"?

Check in the C5 parts for sale section to see if any are available. Also place a "wanted XX" post and I am sure you will get some response.

The only 7 spoke wheel available from the factory in '08 was on the 500 run of ZHZ's and they were all F55 optioned cars.

Post up a pic to verify.

Yes you are correct, they came on the Hertz cars and were also available as an Option.

My understanding was the ZHZ's were the last 500 cars produced in the '08 MY and the wheels were only available on those cars. Hertz not only wanted them to be highly recognizable, but also to deter theft, since they'd be easily spotted on something else. There appears to be no documentation for those wheels that were options or available anywhere else besides the Hertz cars.

The '08 Cadillacs had somewhat similar 7 spoke wheels.

Those cars had a higher incidence of total wrecks than other C6's and many of those were well documented. You might try looking on the ZHZ registry and in the areas where wrecked cars may be salvaged.

The 7 Spoke wheels were not offered as an option when ordering a Corvette.
But they were and pretty sure still available through GM Accessories.
A Google search brings up a few Corvette Vendors online stores that still offer them and I think a Dealer could still get them too.
But like the OP mentions, they're expensive unless you get them second hand somewhere.
A full set will run around 4K give or take.
There's one 19" rear on Fleabay for $669.98
Also one 19" rear 15 Spoke Option wheel on Fleabay for $375.00

I know for a fact they came on the car New. In the 2008 Corvette brochure there is also a accessories Brochure and they are pictured as an option in there. Weather they came from the factory or the dealer installed them just before delivery I am not sure. All I know is that I am not paying $700 for a wheel, this is why I asked if anyone knew of an aftermarket wheel.

Dealers always offered/promoted to install stuff that was not available from the factory. Tires, wheels, tint, etc are just a short list of stuff they hawked.
None of the documentation like general sales brochures and ordering guides show those wheels, nor does the MY production list them.

Check your glovebox list of codes for how the car left the factory. Wheel codes will start with the letter Q. In '08 there were 5. Which one do you have?
It'd also be interesting to know the date your car was produced.

If the dealer who wants $700 for one, ask for the part number. Then search the net for prices.

The ZHZ Vettes left the plant with QG6 wheel code, painted wheels. I think the wheels stripes spoiler were added at Hooks Chevy in Louisville

There is one of those wheels for sale here in the Houston are on Craigslist. I think the seller is only asking $75 for it. It is a 19 inch wheel. I will see if I can find the link.

Yes all of that stuff was factory Optioned and installed at the Dealer after the Original build. Hence my ZHZ wheels.

All I asked was to check your glovebox for wheel codes. The general sales brochures (GM factory brochure) never showed the 7-spoke wheels, since they were only dealer installed, like all the other stuff in the dealer installed accessory brochure. Dealer installed items aren't included on the production stats either.
After I searched a little more, I found this. http://corvette-world.com/page-92-co...es-wheels.html

It clearly indicated the wheels exist, but they are dealer installed. That's why you need the part number from a dealer parts counter, so you can google search.

BTW, did you notice this? https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...eels-size.html
What do you think he wants to do with his old wheels?

My pictures are the general sales brochure as you call it. This is what was handed out at the time of sale and was on the car at delivery. I guess I really do not understand what you are trying to say.
In post #5 you wrote.....

There appears to be no documentation for those wheels that were options or available anywhere else besides the Hertz cars.

this is where my confusion comes from.

Sounds like a good time to shop for all new wheels.... Some black chrome spiders would look awesome...... And a whole set costs less than one of those hertz wheels.....

that's why I said I won't pay $700 for a wheel. The Issue is that I really like these wheels. I'm going to keep searching for a little while longer I guess, It's just there are a couple of small spots on 2 of my wheels that are ...I don't know...eaten away??? they are aluminum so it's not rust, some type of deterioration I guess.
