My tires developed a slow leak. None had nails but when the tires were water tested the leak was around the bead of the tire. This is what the original chrome wheels on my 05 look like. The outside of all of the wheel's are in great shape with zero curb rash. All of them had rust bubbles around the inside rim. This wheel was worse than the others. The tire shop manager said this is very common with older chrome wheels. Have any of you had the same problem?
I doubt it.
I didn't buy my 05 new but it is highly unlikely that someone would use fix flat in all 4 run-flat tires.
Again, I was told at the tire store that in time the chrome on OEM wheels rusts inside. Same thing happened on my brothers 2002 Chrysler 300 after eight years and my nephews Dodge Ram. My brother still has his Chrysler and the aftermarket chrome wheels he bought are still in good shape. I would say that this debunks the claim I have read on CF that OEM wheels are better than aftermarket.
