Now been looking at several c6 cars. Anything we should watch for?
Has anyone had deep regretts about updating?
Looking more for an almost daily driver, cept in winter. ( 3 foot deep snow can be problem). Will they hold up to some corosive road stuff? Minn mich wis folks know what I mean.
I had a 79 L82,picked up a 08 roadster. The 08 is sooooo much
nicer, better ride, alot more room. The difference in power, braking,
and handling is unreal. Don't get me wrong,I love c3's but the
difference is amazing.

Had several C-3's. You won't regret going to a C-6, but they aren't cheap to up-keep and they have their "quirks" so-to-speak. While they won't break down in the leave you stranded sense any more than normal, there are all kinds of little nagging things that you may or may not encounter. Some of them can be quite expensive to repair. One such is the harmonic balancer issue on C-6's. You might want to research it before shopping. Also the "stuck in park" issue if you are seeking an automatic. All kinds of threads addressing these issues in this forum. Don't get me wrong...the cars are great fun and you will love it....just don't fall prey to all the in denials that say their C-6 is the greatest car ever made and they have had zero problems with it after 10 million miles. Good luck
I went from a C2 427/425 to a '06 and have absolutely no regrets other than the typical depreciation of the newer car.
As Jimmy mentioned, the differences are quite staggering, not the least of which is the car's ability to better handle all the power/torque. Greater comfort and interior space as well.
Get the newest C6 you can afford. Many improvements over the years with '08 being a year of significant upgrades/changes.
Don't limit your search to only local vehicles. The big Forum Vendors have lots of great cars and even if it's a long drive home, it's a good way to get familiar with your new car.
My C-6 is the greatest car ever made and has had zero problems after 10 million miles
JK. I guess the counterpoint is that yes, as with any car model, there are quirks and trouble areas. However, don't dismiss those of us, (I would argue the majority) who have had no issues with our C6's.

Ah, watch for more power, vastly better handling, better steering feel, and most of all, you'll miss the sound of rocks in an empty beer can you're used to as you go down the road.

I had a '74 L-82 that I drove extensively and worked on nearly every day I owned it. I loved that car. I sold it this spring.
I wanted a long distance touring car that I could trust to get me home - and I wanted as much horsepower as I could get.
I bought a loaded C6 in April - it has just about everything. It is an amazing car. It will break every speed limit in the US with the first two gears - and there's 6 gears. It's power is astonishing. It's handling makes the C3 feel like a tank. It's comfortable, luxurious, and an absolute joy to drive.
Had an '82 also I completely restored; no regrets moving up to the C6 ... handling, performance, ride. As some have already said, drive one and you'll see ... enjoy
Had a restomod '69 big-block convertible for several years... already had my C5 in the stable at the time.
As others have said, the cars (and the enjoyment factor you get out of them) are extremely different. My '69 was not a daily driver in the least... I didn't buy it to be one, but I do regret selling that car (didn't sell it to get my current C6...just sold it outright) b/c it was a "fun" car, and it didn't draw any negative attention at all.
I'd say given your goals for the car (a "near daily driver"), you will appreciate the C6 way more than your '82.
