That could have been me today. I live in North Tampa where it has rained like an ark needs to be built but South Tampa has been the victim of severe flooding. I work in an Emergency Room as a provider so I have no choice but to go to work. I BARELY made it through an intersection today and it was only because a city bus drove in front of me. I sat at the intersection of Kennedy and MacDill waiting for the water to recede enough for me to make my move. Other people along Swann Avenue were not so lucky including an ambulance....an AMBULANCE...that got stuck in radiator deep water. How I got so lucky today I have no idea but when I saw the picture BWF07 posted it REALLY made me cringe. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. One of my paramedics just told me it is officially time for me to go buy a truck and I cannot blame him for such good advice.
...oh yeah...would have driven our 2009 Acadia but with the transmission failure due to waveplate fracture has the Acadia at the local dealer. They gave my wife a Chevy Cruze as a loaner and that would have been little help!

Idiot is right. If he had been going faster he could have just hydroplaned across. He only had, what, 75-100 feet to cross? If you can't do the required 150mph to get across water like that in a Corvette, you don't deserve to own one.
Here's a thought. Everyone's calling that 'vette owner an idiot, however, there may be perfectly valid reasons why the car is there.
It could have been stolen, and abandoned in that parking lot, and not yet spotted by police.
That happened to me about 25 years ago, and my car sat in a parking lot for nearly 2 weeks before it was discovered stolen.
It's also possible it broke down, or had a flat tire, and was left there waiting for a flat bed pick up.

Why does everyone assume the owner is an idiot?
Think that is a road. Car is moving with lights on.

Why does everyone assume the owner is an idiot?
1. I didn't.
2. I asked if he made it thru. IF so, he was smart and daring.
