frustrating 6L80 issues-HELP!!
Car details:
2010 TT A6 Grand Sport
Fully built-new motor, Century trans, fuel system, twins
Details of issues:
Upshift in SPORT mode
no downshifts until stopped
TapShift only upshfts
will down to 2nd when stopped
-move to D and will drop to 1st gear
Will NOT shift out of 1st by itself in manual, but will shift to all other gears by itself
Reverse works just fine
Jumps through the gears VERY quikly-up to 6th and stays in 6th until ~30mph then downshifts to 3rd
We have done the following correct:
-working with Mike at Century
-reset TCM to factory programming (dealership)
-changed valve bodies (07 to original 2010 VB)
-several reprog changes-100% stock as of Tuesday
-tested all ECM, BCM, TCM communications-PASS
-no codes
Both the trans builder and dealership are thinking a wire or contact is the issue. I’m at my wits end with this, as we’ve been trying to figure it out for 2 weeks!
Any help, or ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Jeremiah J. Hum

I would start by seeing if your horn still works because if it doesn't, that'll be a dead giveaway it's the clock spring.
If your horn does work, it might still be the clock spring but is going to require a little more investigation to ascertain it being the source of your problem.

Horn works, and TUTD upshift works via tap shift, downshift is an X.
