Well, the (possible) good news is that just because Toyota chooses not to resell the disc, doesn't mean the GM has to follow their lead.
If GM said that their target for the next release was "Dec 2015", then it wouldn't surprise me at all to see the disc in 1st quarter 2016 (March, pehaps?) Clearly, that disc is not their highest priority!

So far, I'm still waiting for the 2014 update to replace my 2013 version.
The good/bad news is that the states and provinces are all too poor to build new roads, so most updates since 2010 have only added new POI's.
For the most part the V9 (2013) will do me for years to come. If it becomes too outdated, and I still have the car, then maybe I can use my portable Garmin, or get a aftermarket built in Nav unit for the C6.

Looking on the GM Nav website, like 07MontyRed says, the page has red letters stating that a new update will be available in mid-January. I can't tell you exactly when that announcement showed up, but it wasn't there a couple of months ago.
So there is hope.
Since I really like the HUD interface with our nav, a new update would keep me happy for several years.
My disc is an 2011, the same as my car and I have not had any issues with it finding any address I put into it and I use it a lot
The same with my ECLASS nav as it too is an 11 and we drive that even more
Wonder how many updates do they really do to the maps or is it a minimal update each year and some hype to make us all go out and spend $200 on an update
The discs are always about a year behind road changes, sometimes more. It takes a while for the nav company to get the info and put it into the database and then wait for the next disc edition.
My experience has been that they don't "hold back" any road updates, just it's a slow process.
POI information is very hit & miss in the C6 nav, far behind what's in my not-always-correct iPhone. But my iPhone doesn't show up on the HUD.

You are so right Jim , its so nice to have that HUD display especially when you are looking where to turn and there are several streets to pick from , I just stare at the HUD and watch it count down and listen for the little tone that plays when you should turn ....
It might not have all the bells and whistles but it sure works ok for my need . Especially since I have the USB/AUX unit
I just use my phone if I am looking for a place to eat etc .....

Sounds vaguely familiar to what I said in September of last year. There are only a couple or three companies that collect the data. A lot of collected info actually come from the public who find mistakes or missing data and report it on the companies web sites. The best maps and data out there come from Google. If you want the most recent maps use your cell phone.
I don't even use the in car navigation these as there's better options like on the cell phones. I use the Waze app which is far much better than the in car GPS as it gives me current traffic conditions, routes me away from the congested areas let's me know there's a cop ahead, hazard, accidents, potholes and all other misc in the road way far much better than the in car systems. It provides accurate current conditions on everything.

Waze is owned by Google. It's a smarter Google Maps with a great community of information providers.
I went to the site, and it lists it as replacement for Corvette 2005-2012....Why isn't the 2013 included??? That seems odd to me that 2013 year was not included. Was this a typo, or did they just rebrand V9 to V.2016
Hopefully someone that buys it can see if there is any difference from it to the V9 2013 edition.

Let's get "Mikey" to buy it...LOL. But seriously, how is someone actually going to do that? Do they check out the streets by their house? Realistically, there is just too much data on these discs for a person to actually get a good idea of how much improvement there has been.

I hear you....I do know that a new highway near my home was built about 3 years prior to the 2013 V9 release, and it did not show up on the NAV. The only thing I found changed was some POI's additions for restaurant and Hotels brands that were not on the V7 .
Hopefully Mikey will buy a new version, and let us know

Exactly. I have seen the same increase in POIs, which are really just paid advertising. For an individual person, the only info that can be seen is road info near where the person lives or works...but what real good is that? We all know the roads near where we live...we don't need the NAV for those roads. We need the NAV for the roads that are not near where we live. And there is no practical way to find out how the disc has improved for those roads.

Likely just a typo as they copy/paste compatibility and ad copy from the last time it was released.
I would find it hard to believe they would go through the expense of reprinting physical discs and sleeves, inventory, etc... JUST to 'rebrand' it... what would be the advantage?

I hope your right, with the "latest" road updates, not just updated POI's like the last version.
We've bought a new disc every year they were available since 2006, they were never completely up to date but always better than the previous edition. Since we use the C6 as a long-distance road tripper over most of the USA and Canada, I also have a complete up-to-date set of Rand McNally paper maps.
Between the two systems, life is good.
Well, except for the snow outside...
I received my new Navigation disk today (for my 2005 C6) and checked it out on a 7 1/2 mile desert drive that was just opened last summer. The road was not on my old disk and it is in the new disk. And FYI, the shipping charge is only $3.95.

All Things Nav is just another name for Navteq which was purchased by Nokia in 2008/9. They provide data to most of the automotive industry for mapping. When you buy from ATN or Navteq you are getting data that is anywhere from 9 to 15 months old. It takes them time to compile and provide new data. They have a web site where consumers can provide corrections https://mapreporter.navteq.com They are no bargain and you might as well buy from GM as there may be some warranty. Those two web sites are only reselling the GM discs.
I had a huge issue with Navteq for my Mercedes. After buying a New disc I loaded it onto the hard drive and went on a trip going down 295 in NJ. That road and it's exits have been in existence for many years built in the 60's. Stuck in traffic I was looking for an alternate route and the system did not recognize an exit that was two mile in front of me. Being stopped in traffic I took a picture of my Nav screen and the road sign which was right in front of the car. When I got home I sent an email off the Navteq. We went back and forth with no resolution. They claimed they only supplied the data and it was up to MB as to what they did with it.
The moral of the story is unless there are major roadway changes it won't be worth spending $$$ for the update and you won't know if the update has current information until you use it.
Buy a Garmin with lifetime updates and you will be better off.
Garmin, works for me as I have given up on the Nav system. Not even usable to me. More trouble than it is worth. Now ask me what I really think of it,lol
For anyone who owns an original OEM navigation DVD but does not have the equipment or skills to make a physical backup copy of their DVD I will be more than happy to do it at no charge, providing either an actual physical DVD copy or ISO image that I can send to you via e-mail (yes, I can e-mail very large files using hightail.com).
Since you will be sending me your DVD to burn I will only return it (and the backup cpoy) via insured Fedex signature required delivery but I'm happy to do this for the cost of return postage ($10).
