whats the going rate for a good dyno tune? I was quoted about $1100.00, does that sound about right or does it seem to high?

Sounds like you need to find a new tuner. I could understand if this was a friend that had to buy tuning software and then rent a dyno somewhere, but no shop should charge like this.

Even if he has to pay vehicle licenses 1 by 1 they are 100, and most dyno tuners won't charge you by the hour if you are paying for a dyno tune.

I paid $200 for this tune at a local shop, and I'm very happy with it, driven it about a year now.

About $500 here in Houston. And that's with a guy that specializes in LS.

About $ 700 here in NY...If the shop has the tuner. Some shops don't have one and they send it out. That's why it's more.

Prices must have really gone up in the last 2 years ...

Exactly 2 years ago, I had a set of Pfadt long tube stainless headers with cats and x-pipe installed on my 2011 GS here in Florida.

The headers, cats and x-pipe cost: $1,890

The installation and dyno tune cost: $453

Total out the door price was: $2,343
