It may be simply that your gas cap was not put on properly, especially if this happened proximate to a fuel fill-up. Mine started doing this recently, first noticed after a fill-up. I reapplied the gas cap gently, and in about an hour the gas gauge began to work properly. After about 2-4 cold starts the CEL went off as well. I'm going to replace my gas cap, on order from Gene Culley at CULTRAG.
My gauge works until I get to about half a tank. Then CEL comes on with "Check Fuel System" and the gauge reads 0.
Should I give in a replace the sending unit?
If the techron doesn't work, then you may not have a choice if you want a reliable gas reading.
It will be expensive if you don't do it yourself though. You have to drop the gas tanks. Labour extensive to get this done. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-question.html

I got a MasterPro Select gas cap from O'reillys last week for around $14.00 I think. Part #6840.Quialty is 100% better then the GM cap.
