OK... I have followed every procedure I can find; Basically:
- Car off
- Trunk open
- Working fob in car (did multiple variations, of new fob in and out of car)
- Glove box open
- Insert metal key in truck slot, turn 5 times within 5 seconds
I was just adding a new fob, and can't get it in programming mode.
So you want the short procedure. Trouble getting into program mode is the most common problem with the system...read through that thread as many people have offered tips and tricks that worked for them, in spite of not being part of the official instruction set.

I tried them all, none of it worked.
The auto pull down latch is working, turning the key will unlock the hatch, but nothing puts it in to program mode.
Tried it with doors open, closed, hatch open and closed, did it quick, with a helper, without a helper, did it slower did it with both keys in car, one key in car, key in the slot, not in the slot, etc. etc.
You name it, I tried it.
Edit: I got it worked out. In the end I had to put the car in reverse and it worked first try... go figure...

Getting a dealer to do the programming is a little bit expensive.
Make one last try with turning the key 5 times. Some forum members who couldn't get the programming started went back and made sure they were doing 5 full vigorous turns of the key. Sometimes that was all it took.
With your helper watching the display, keep turning the key past the normal 5 times to see if that works. A couple years back, after trying the 5 turns several times with no luck, I had my wife help me & I kept turning the key until it worked, I think it took 8-9 turns. Can't hurt to try if you haven't already ... good luck.
