Ok so I am early to the party on this one but I am curious. When you guys store your converts do you store it with the top up or down. I have read things that say one is better than the other. I would imagine top up is better however it will be under a cover in the garage anyhow. Your thoughts??????????

I've never heard of leaving the top down. Interested in the responses.
I leave mine down all summer but only because I drive it often. Storing it for the winter, it makes sense to put the top up...wrinkles stretch out...better for the top.
In cold wet climates with an unheated garage, I would imagine you would invite to much moister to the inside of the car. I leave mine up. Once in awhile during the summer, but that's only if I will be using it the next day.
Mine has been stored (in my personal garage) top-down much more than top-up.
I drive with the top down as much as possible, and as long as that's the way I pull into the garage, that's the way it stays, excepting the days the top has gotten wet in any way (washing, raining, sprinklers, etc….). Obviously, like others it stays up more during the winter, but not continuously where I live.
I would think that storing it with the top up would make sense to me.
Always store with the top in the up position. If stored folded in the down position permanent wrinkles and possible fabric deterioration can occur. Put it up until spring.

If you have moisture on the top when it gets placed in the down position, mold/mildew can form as well as creases.

We have two scenarios happening, here. One is winter/long-term storage; the other, everyday storage in the garage.
If you anticipate weeks or months in the garage, then, yes, storing it with the top up makes sense, but I would not be afraid to store it on a regular basis with the top down. I have quite a few years with garaging it regularly with the top down, and have only just now noticed a few hard creases forming.
At this point, I declare the top a durable success!
