A while back my car started acting up and going into limp mode. Code was 2135 (throttle body). Ok, no problem. Well, I have now tried 3 different throttle bodies.
With every change out, I get roughly 1000 miles of trouble free driving. But, then I get random reduced power limp mode. My car dies randomly while in limp mode.
Today I had the shop across the street scan it and now I have 3 codes. This is the first time that I have had more than the p2135 code show up.
Now it pulls P1516, P2135, P2176.
I am at a loss. I bought the car in May and have had nothing but trouble. Someone suggested that it needs a tune and that should clear it all up. Someone else suggest that the ECU was going bad.
Can anyone PLEASE give some insight or possible suggestions as to what is needed? I don't want to continuously throw money at it without fixing the problem. I am about to push this thing off of a cliff.
Have you had anyone in the passenger seat? If you have they might have pushed down too hard on the BCM high speed data buss. It is the passengers floorboard. If they did it can give you a lot of codes and put the car in limp mode.
I don't have any help for you-(as usual). I just wanted to say or ask if anyone else has noticed that more often than not it seems the vettes that have been modded have more problems than those that are left stock. I'm probably wrong on this as I know stock vettes have issues too. Just seems the modded ones always need some work done. Just my .02.
