I see all the posts about having to reindex the windows but my issue appears different. Every once in a while (haven't identified a pattern) my driver window pops outside the weather stripping when I close the door and it indexes up. If I reopen the door and just tap the glass before closing, it will slide right up in the stripping where its supposed to. Anyone experience this? Not a huge issue but can be annoying.
I would disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and re index the windows again. The only other reason would be the door does not shut all the way closed.
Car is a coupe. I will try disconnecting battery this evening but the window appears to index fine as far as closing the window the whole way; it just pops out sometimes.

Disconnecting the battery is a total waste of time and risks (although a small risk) damaging the car's electronics. All of the car's dozens of computer modules reboot themselves when needed. Disconnecting the battery does nothing except introduce power surges into the electronics.
You mentioned that you had read about reindexing. Did you do it? It sounds to me as if the index position is just a fraction of an inch too high. The window movement is a complicated dance and if it is just a little high it will contact the strip pushing it in. Then when the window goes up it slides outside. I would be reindexing the window many times before I tore into removing a door panel.
For those that might reference this in the future, the problem was the driver's side roof panel latch needed adjustment upwards. The window was sometimes catching the weather stripping right on the front left corner of the roof panel and causing the window to index outside the weather stripping. By raising the roof latch a tad, this lifted that roof corner and provided adequate space for the window to clear the weather stripping.
