I need to replace my battery in my 06 convertible. When I don't drive it for a few days it needs recharging. Bought the car in July and I don't know how old the battery is. Will this effect any part of the electrical system or radio codes. I'm new owning the car so not sure what I'm doing. Any information or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

The only thing you will have to do once the new battery is installed is to re-index your windows. Radio presets and all other settings on the car will be fine.
I have stuck with the Delco batteries when it comes time to replace one in my vettes. They have lasted me 5+ years and never have used a battery maintainer.
There are times when some of my vettes have sat for a month or more and never have failed to start. When I replaced the one in my 2007 about 4 years ago I went with the Delco Professional 6 year from my local chevy dealer parts department and it ran $85 exchange.
Agree....and with today's cars (any) because of all the electronics , the battery is key! If 4yrs or older, replace it! Unlike the old days, todays cars will just go DEAD if the battery is too weak....and most good batteries will run about 4yrs or maybe a bit more before they start to not hold a charge.

I also had to reset the time on the radio, but mine is a non-bose basic radio.
Scott not sure if same for 05 or 06 just replaced my battery with a delco sealed battery which seemed to be battery of choice on the forum and car seems fine. I will use a battery maintainer as I only drive the car every few weeks.

if you have an M6... try this before turning off the car... Your battery should not drain if sitting for 2-3 weeks.
Parking (Manual Transmission)
Before you get out of the vehicle,
move the shift lever into R (Reverse)
and firmly apply the parking brake.
Once the shift lever has been
placed into R (Reverse) with the
clutch pedal pressed in, you can
turn the ignition off and release the
clutch.
