Default z51 options?

I know very little about corvettes other than I've always wanted one!Now I finally have one.How do you tell if the car has the Z51 option or not.The car I purchased has factory drilled disc and the front sway bar looks huge to me.Any help? Also,do all the auto transmissions use a 256 gear or do some have the 342?Thanks.Oh,car is '07.

Look in your glove box, you'll see a sticker with all the codes that represent the car's equipment.

See if Z51 is listed.

That is the easiest way. Everything can be added if the previous owner wanted.

And those codes are listed in alphabetical order.

In some model years, non-Z51 cars also had drilled rotors.

The auto tranny has 273 gear and the manual 342 in the 2008 vette.

The 2.73 was optional (extra price) unless you had the Z51 option package. Then it was included with the rest of the Z51 option package.

I could be wrong, but I think the 2.73 began in 2008. My z51 has it but I'm pretty sure the 06s and 07s I looked at did not.

Z51 vettes have zerk fittings (grease) on the tie rod ends front and rear.

J55 brakes with drilled rotors were a separate extra cost option in every year, unless they were included in either the Z51 or F55 option.

The 2.73 was included in the Z51 option or available as a separate option where the 2.56 was standard.

Correct. But it only lasted 3 years ('08-'10) in the base cars. It was standard in all GS A6 cars.

Correct, but see above.

Base cars all years had J55 brakes as a stand alone option.
Base cars with A6 had GU2 (2.73 gear) as a stand alone option in '08-'10 and included as part of the Z51 option in '08 and '09.
GS cars with A6 had the 2.73 standard '10-'13.

All this info is available on www.corvetteactioncenter.com, although it does require a bit of research and comparison of production numbers.
