Reimbursement: If you have paid for repairs for the condition described in this letter, please complete the enclosed reimbursement form and present it to your dealer with all required documents. Working with your dealer will expedite your request, however, if this is not convenient, you may mail the completed reimbursement form and all required documents to Reimbursement Department, PO Box 33170, Detroit, MI 48232-5170. The completed form and required documents must be presented to your dealer or received by the Reimbursement Department by September 30, 2016, unless state law specifies a longer reimbursement period.

This is great news....C6 Clutchs have always had way too much notchiness, slop, play, shudder, chatter, finickyness; even compared to Mustangs or 80s BMWs

Im sure this more robust Master will improve engagement with Clutch Plate and shifting at all RPMs.

All C6 owners should find a sympathetic dealer when their car reaches limit of 10yr warranty and get upgrade!

I didn't receive a notice and when I ran a vin check, only saw the headlight recall. However, when logging into the gm owner site, it lists a special warranty for the clutch issue.

Not going to change a thing on the clutch and the way it feels, or the way the trans shifts!!!!!

Again, the problem with the master cylinder is the end button will pop off, and the new designed master cylinder just prevents the end button from popping off instead.

So when the end button pops off, the master cylinder will not work to push any fluid to the slave cylinder when you push the clutch pedal down.

So with the new master cylinder installed, It solves the end button pop off problem only, and the car is still going to shift the same way, the clutch is going to feel the same way via the pedal as before the master cylinder when south.

Hence is the only thing that gets replaced with the TSB,

And solves the end button pop off problem of the old master cylinders,

I haven't read through all the posts but would like to know if anyone with a 2013 has gotten this letter?

More specifically,...anyone with a 2013 Grand Sport received this letter?

To date, I have not.

Just received my letter today.........2013 GS. It said NOT to go to a dealer unless the clutch had the mentioned problems. They also explained the extented warranty for the clutch. 10 Years or 120,000 Miles. So far my clutch doesn't have any problems, hope it stays that way.

I have a 2013 Z06, did not receive letter. However, when I logged into the GM Owners website it shows the special notice in my warranty section extending it to the 10/100,000 coverage. It shows the TSB number as mentioned in earlier posts.

Good to know, thanks.
Mine has an automatic transmission, does that make any difference?

Sounds like another case in which I'll put the notice in my glove box for the next owner.
I do not take my cars to any dealer unless it's absolutely necessary.
Sounds like this issue fall in the not necessary category.

If your car is an automatic, you won't get the notice. Only for manuals.

Glad to know they have changed the design of the MC. I just bought my c6 2 months ago, and had this problem, the clutch hit the floor and would not come back up.. "Funny thing" though not at the time. Is I bought the car from my chevy dealer that is less than a mile away.
when I took position of the car I never mad it home, turning on my street that's when the clutch went to the floor, I never even made it home. it had to be towed back for them to fix it. The car has 24,000 miles on it. I was a little pi** off. They put in a new clutch, clutch plate, Master cylinder, slave cylinder, the whole nine, at no charge to me. "Now check this out" last week just two months later, the same thing happened again.
It's back at the dealer. I went in today and they didn't even know anything about the recall. So they put my vin # in and the recall showed up. I wanted to make sure that they put the new redesigned MC in, so that is what their going to do. I hope this solves the problem! Fingers crossed!
Tim

Hammy, I just received my letter yesterday. I put it in the pouch in the glove box. After our trip to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons last month we just went over 24,000 miles. No clutch issues. If and when it happens I will deal with it.

So this replacement cost would be $950?, if done on my own dime through the dealer.

Also, since the seals in the new master cylinder are designed for dot 4 fluid, the fluid is changed out to Dot 4 from the older Dot 3 that was used before.
My 06 ZO6s' owners manual (1st printing) specified dot 4 for the clutch hydraulics

Are you experiencing the issue or are they replacing it for free as a preventative measure?
