Folded a towel over the halo portion, put another on top of the center console arm rest, her dad did the brow beating for me! That day I realized I dont like parades anymore. Glad I did it, checked that box....
Since owning my 2000 C5 and now my current C6 I get asked for Homecomings, Fair parades and Christmas parades. I like doing all of them and living in small town USA there is not a lot of quality parade cars. I put a fender cover over the Halo and whoever is riding will bring a blanket to put over it. The fender cover keeps the girl from sliding off the Halo. Pics from past parades...
I have used bathroom rugs which have a rubber backing. This keeps it from sliding. Another important thing is to have the young ladies remove their shoes. Many will wear heels, and a heel will puncture your seat.

We used a clear plastic film (like saran wrap) on a wide roll. First we wrapped the door, and then we wrapped the sign onto the door. The door opened and closed just fine and no damage.
Oh, and automatic transmission is a must for parades.
I just used blue painters tape to affix the sign to the doors. With all the wax on the car that barely held the signs on. Towel on the halo keep my rider comfortable the paint safe. I have headers, and a cam on my GS with a manual transmission. It was a bit of a chore with the manual but not too big of a deal. Since the parade I did was on 4th of July in Florida, I was concerned about heat. To help, I removed the fuel rail covers and popped the hood. Water temps hovered right around 200 for the length of the parade. I would definitely do it again if asked.

I did a Memorial day parade with my 6MN GS once, never again !
One on teethings to look at is when using your Corvette for homecoming at the stadium look at the entrance to the track, In many cases there are small curbs that would not bother a standard car or truck but will cause a Corvette to scrape of bottom out. Look before you drive on to the track.
Since there are no parades here, I usually sit on top, steer with my bare feet and wave at everybody but it usually doesn't go over very well with the police and all.
