Default Car value

Going to buy either a 2013 427 convertible or a 2004 ZO6 which one would hold it's value the best. Just sold my 71 LT1 roadster.

The 04 would already have taken the biggest resale hit so it should hold its remaining value better.

Just my opinion but if you are talking about what will hold its value in the long run, 427 vert. I think the production numbers are lower on the 427 and are much cooler than the 04 z06.

Probably in the 23 to 28k price range looking for miles in the 20 to 30 k range. Have not found the right car yet. I also have a 26k miles coupe to find a new home for also.

As those before me have said the Z06 will depreciate/lose it's value at a slower pace than the 427 and it will cost you a boat load less $$$ to buy. Having said that, and not knowing your personal situation, if you are just looking at getting into a "newer" driver vette the answer for me would be a 2002-2004 vert or coupe.
I'm sure you realize you sold the value keeper car...the '71 LT1.

I had owned the 71 for 11 years and it was time for it to go. I have owned 21 corvettes and will be 70 on my next birthday and this will probably be my last Corvette. Thanks for your input.

Assuming you can afford either one correct? IMHO the 2013 427 Vert, no doubt. The advancements made in those 9 years are pretty substantial.
In the end its your call as we all know
good luck

Does a 2009 ZR1 hold any appeal or fit into your model? Based on my limited exposure to the 2013 427's cost, could the ZR1 fit your financial and performance/value profile? Just a shot out of left field.

Does it matter if it's going to be the last corvette that you own?

I'd go for the 427 Vert.

The 03/04 Z06 has been steady in price since mid 2007 if you're talking low miles. I recall 03Z w/13K miles asking prices 30K back then. Now, same mileage, asking price is still 30K. Will the price come down? Maybe not with very low miles as long as new ones keep going up in price, as they have done.

So the next Q has the 427 price leveled out, going up or down? That you need to determine.

I agree w. both of the posts below. I really like the '04 Z06, and if all you're looking for is good performance and a stabilized price, it's the one. But, as mentioned before, just from the improvements made in the last nine years, and the relative exclusivity of the the 427 convertible, a little more depreciation over the next few years is a relatively small price to pay. Yes, it's just my opinion about how you spend your money, but that's still the way I look at it. Neither of the two cars are "investments." They are cars to be enjoyed and driven when possible---not preaching, just speaking my piece.
