Question about stock Head Unit
Newbie when it comes to the Bose unit in my 05 c6.
can i swap out the stock unit that has nav. and replace it with a newer unit with bluetooh and backup camera without having to remove and replace the bose speakers. are would i have to do a lot of after market mods to the unit to make it work. thanks for any help.

Yes you can replace it. I replaced mine with a Kenwood system w/Garmin for NAV a few years back. They have newer systems and there are other brands that work as well. I kept my Bose speakers/amp; there's an adapter/harness that is plug-n-play. If you go to the audio section of this forum, you should be able to find several threads on systems and DIY instructions.

You will need:
1) Dash kit (like Metra 95-3304)
2) Antenna adapter
3) Relay (like Metra E-5000)
4) Wiring harness that will be able to keep your door chimes, onstar if you have it etc. etc. (Like PAC RP5-GM11 or Metra GMOS-04)
