I stopped at the hardware store the other day.
I'm in the far back of the store talking to one of the workers.
And a guy shows up. I tell the the worker to take care of the
gentleman first. The guy say he wants to talk to me.
He asked if that was my black Vette outside? I tell him it was.
He says it's a nice looking car and it's a stick shift. Not many
people have stick shifts anymore. He tells me he likes that.
I tell him "thank you for appreciating that".
We talk a little more and he goes.
The thing was, he had to hunt me down in the back of the
store to tell me that.
That's the part I thought was cool.
That is a very good story. Thanks for sharing. The percentage of "sticks" to "autos" is correct I'm sure. And it is a high percentage although under 50%. Seems though that finding a "stick" as they were called when I was a lad is a tough find.
....did not someone say that having a manual trans is one of the best theft deterrents on the market today.......I remember when an Automatic in a Corvette was a chick car for sure......

That was back when you had one. Things have changed now.
