You will need to fix the broken pivot point for the motor driven mirror assembly of the HUD.
The HUD can be accessed from removing the dash, or by just removing the gage cluster and cutting the AC duct to get access to the HUD.
Good Luck
Yikes! Sounds expensive at the dealer, if they even have somebody trained to do this, and certainly more than I'd attempt on the driveway as this guy in the video has done. I think I'll turn it off.......... Thanks for your quick replies.

That's a shame. I love the HUD...I would certainly entertain to DIY it myself. It's not that complicated.
You might want to check with Andrew who travels the country installing HUDs. Here is a link you can use to contact him. You could probably just buy a new kit and have him swap yours out for a reasonable price. Keep us posted.
When i had my 02 I had the same problem. I had the corvette specialist do it for me. I was not going to take apart the whole dash and then try to put it all back together. I have no problem with it and I am skillfully inclined. But I wasn't in the mood last year. Anyway, I paid $ 850 for a new one. It worked and I was Happy!
