Default Radiator debris ?

I just sold my C4 and purchased a 2007 C6. The C4 is known for sucking up road debris, leaves and such, so i made a screen to go underneath the radiator in front. Does the C6 do the same, will I need to do the same to this car?

Yes.

I made a wand to flush the radiator and condenser.

Very much, I have an 07 and another member from here was kind enough to put it up on his lift and use a shop vac and air compressor to blow and suck out the debris. I tell you even after 20 minutes there was stuff coming out!!!

Yes. Absolutely.

When coolant temps in Red, my '07 vert, peaked at 236 in road construction traffic on the way to Corvette Funfest, I took it to my dealership. They separated the E-Force supercharger intercooler, the A/C condenser, and the radiator enough to blow high pressure air with a home-made wand that doesn't damage the fins/vanes. They said what came out was enough to fill a shoebox: bugs, twigs, small rocks, sand, bits of paper, you name it.

The radiator is mounted very close to the ground and angled back almost 30 degrees. It's constantly scooping up debris. If they blew out that much after just three years (it was clean when I had the E-Force installed), I would have to recommend this separation-and-blowout maintenance be performed at least every two years on any C6.

Well I know that they sell a screen for the C4 for around $40.00 , I made my own for about $2.00 ,I purchase a piece of plastic gutter guard cut it to fit , painted it black and installed it with a couple of zip ties. No more problems.

Let's just put it this way, your street will never be cleaner when you drive a C6 ....

the Mesh screen is an interesting idea.. just have to find a large enough screen to cover the area.. and tuck it up so not to scrape....

as for my cleaning technique -- I use a extendable air gun I purchased from harbor freight for about 3 bucks....
