My car studder starts. It started happening about 6 months ago. At first it was just two or three studders (engine engages and disengages) but yesterday it went on for about 6 attempts before it took. When it happens, I can't do anything but wait for it to start. My mechanic told me to try Techron fuel system cleaner and after two bottles (20 oz each) it seemed to go away, but it's back again about one month after conditioning with the Techron. Should I continue with the Techron?

I gotta ask why you wouldn't? If it seemed to work before why not? Having said that, I really don't think that is your problem...especially if the "engine engages and disengages".
I would be very surprised if it had anything to do with the kind of gas or additives. My more likely guess would be ignition system related...maybe a loose plug wire. I'm also not entirely clear on what the engine is doing...what the actual symptoms are. Does it run normally after it gets started?
Fuel pressure gauge would be a good diagnostic tool...to make sure there is press when the stuttering happens.
