I have read numerous threads re automatic transmission overheating issues. My A6 overheated on the track a few weeks ago. I know GM promised to come out with a "fix".
However,
Has anyone tried Redline or Amsoil ATF ?

How hot did it get? I have not tried different fluid. My fix was an aftermarket B&M cooler post Radiator out. Also, have you cleaned your radiator lately by taking off the top shroud and getting between the condenser and radiator?
I haven't heard of any overheating issues with the C6. When I ran Tail of the Dragon, my temp did go up a little. Since you track your car,you can have the fans turn on sooner when it's tuned.

I had this post in the c7 section. I have a 2014 c7. The moderator moved it to the c6 section. I have no clue why it was moved here
It went into "limp" mode around 300 degrees. There is a company that makes a larger transmission pan. I might go that route.
Better to put the extra capacity into a cooler instead of the pan. Many of us drag racers run 1/2 to 1 quart over full, just to assure there is always enough in the converter at high RPM.
