How hot does your coolant get setting at idle?
I'm new to the c6 corvettes and to me it seems like these things run kinda hot. The other day I was setting for like 20 min in road construction at idle and was watching my coolant temp. I seen it work it's way up to 216 then would drop to 210 then after bit work it's way back up to 216. Never got any higher than that. Is that normal when setting at idle for a while? While driving it drops down in the 195 range. Just wondering what everybodys car is running. Thanks guys

My DIC read-out showed 220 for a while yesterday while in stop and go traffic. 107F outside temp. Fans would come on and it'd fall to around 210 and then back up. Dropped to 197 after the traffic jam broke and we started moving again.

Thanks guys. Just wondering what do you do if the oil temps get up in the 260 range? I didn't think to even look at that

You can add additional cooling, if your vette does not have it, if you desire.
It's complicated to explain which vettes already have them, but many vettes have additional oil, power steering and transmission fluid coolers, depending on the option package and type of vette. Look at the sticky above for FAQ for C6's and it has tons of info like this.
Also, if you look at the RPO codes in your glove box, then google them, you will know more about your particular vette.

Your temps are normal. It goes up toward 220 and the fan turns on and it drops back down so the fan turns off.

Thanks guys for all the good info. Mine has never made it up to 220 yet. Seen 216 a couple times but as I said I was setting in traffic for 20 min or better. So it sound like it must be normal. I may get a cooler t stat in the future and see if I can adjust the fans a bit. I have efi live but I will need to upgrade to the V2 in order to tune my vette

Pretty sure the fans do not come on at 100% until 227 degrees . You can search the stock fan settings on here. I know 227 is one of them and it may not even be the 100%

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
COOLING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
Cooling Fan Control - Variable Speed Single Fan System
The engine cooling fan is a variable speed fan. The engine control module (ECM) controls the fan
speed by sending a pulse width modulated signal to the cooling fan control module. The cooling
fan control module varies the voltage drop across the cooling fan motor in relation to the pulse
width modulated signal.
Cooling fan speed is effected by many different conditions and can be adjusted from 10% to 90%
duty cycle (PWM), 90% is considered high speed fan. When multiple cooling fan speed requests
are received the ECM uses the highest cooling fan speed of all the requests. The ECM commands
the cooling fan ON under the following conditions:
Cooling fan duty cycle starts when engine coolant temperature reaches approximately 95°C
(204°F) and reaches high speed at temperatures above 113°C (235°F).
Cooling fan duty cycle starts when A/C pressure reaches approximately 1100 kPa (160 psi)
and reaches high speed at A/C pressures above 2480 kPa (360 psi).
At engine oil temperatures above approximately 150°C (302°F) the cooling fan duty cycle
will be commanded to high speed.
At transmission oil temperatures above approximately 132°C (270°F) the cooling fan duty
cycle will be commanded to high speed.
After the vehicle is shut OFF if the engine coolant temperature at key-off is greater than
113°C (235°F) or the A/C pressure is greater than 1720 kPa (249 psi) the cooling fan duty
cycle is set to 50%, low speed. If the coolant temperature drops below 110°C (230°F) and
the A/C pressure drops below 1660 kPa (241 psi) the fan will shut OFF. The fans will
automatically shut OFF after 2 min. regardless of coolant temperature.
