How fitting... A4 shift cable
I was able to nose it into the garage and turn it off. Being stuck in D though I wouldn't be able to re-start it. I got under the vehicle and got the shifter back into N so I could get it started again.
This entire incident caught me at a bad time. I'm in class all week with zero free time. So......
I called roadside and had it towed to Westside Chevrolet here in Katy. I have a very good friend that writes service there and they actually have a
Corvette tech (now what that means exactly, I have no idea) that comes highly recommended.
I had it towed in last night and got a call this morning around 10 that it was indeed the shift cable. It had broken (from my previous repair attempt) and had lasted this long until the metal cable inside stretched enough to no longer be effective.
$394 later with my buddy discount I am back on the road.
I just thought it fitting that on the home page for the forum this very issue was the topic.
Oh, and they did the headlight recall.
The task is in the labor. The mid pipe has to be removed to gain access to the torque tunnel ro whatever it's called.
