Default Lesson Learned

I learn new things about my Corvette every day! Some by reading this board, some by doing stupid things!
1)this is the stupid thing!-when filling up the Vette and the gas pump cuts off, NEVER NEVER squeeze againg to get a few more ounces in!! works in most other cars but NOT this one! splased gas all over the rear quarter panel!!
2) I have learned it is IMPOSSIBLE to get all 4 readings on the TPMS to read the same!!! just saying!

Mine usually read the same. I do use a hand-held pressure gauge when I'm adjusting the pressure in the tires.

Odd......All mine read the same too (I too use an air gauge to confirm the DIC is right).

I can also top off my tank after the pump clicks off automatically. I normally fill it up to the next even number ($20, $20.50, $20.80, etc.), I hate the odd numbers ($20.01, $21.21, etc.)

Couple things: those TPMSs are about eight years old. Altho few fail that early, the lifespan is supposedly ten years. Also, are you filling your tires with a hand held gauge when the tires are cold? Just remember that mostly the tire pressures you see on the dash are best to use as an indicator that something might be wrong with one or more tires---not that the tire reading sensors are perfectly accurate. That means on the best of tire gauges, your tires may be at X pounds and the dash will read X+ or -. Not always, but in some cars (mine read about the same by gauge to dash but I have relatively inexpensive hand held gauges).

If you haven't already, check out the sticky at the top of this forum section. " ** The Official C6 Mega Thread of DIY and FAQ's ..LOOK INSIDE!! ** " May help with avioding the stupid things.

As with the owner's manual, this should be required reading. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ok-inside.html

Use a digital tire gauge. They are cheap and you can get all tires within 1\10th psi of each other.

Don't waste your money, your not driving a race car at the limits, and regular air is already 78.09% nitrogen.

I, personally, would not top off after the nozzle shuts off when full. It is not good for the vapor recovery/emissions system and can cause your catalytic converter to fail.

The tires can be a couple psi different for many reasons, even if they start out exactly the same. The road course, road temp in the lane you are in, even the sun shining on one side of the car for a period will change the psi in one or more tire. Unless there is a radical number difference, I wouldn't sweat it. It won't affect handling.
