hi all did any one do this build
im converting the corvette to be a full on track car
there for i need to add a role cage and im not allowed to run on convertible
is it going to be a difficult build
cause i cant sell the car no more i invested alot in mechanical side
so what parts is needed to complete the conversion
beside the:
front windshield frame PN:25848678
Rear quarters
Trunk Hatch
The frame is different - specifically the b-pillar hoop that supports the roof. To the best of my knowledge, it can't be retrofitted by just bolting on the hoop.
My other car is a Toyota MR2 Spyder convertible, and there are hardtops available for it but like this top, it's made of fiberglass. Plenty of our club members do Autocross and trackdays, and the bolt on hardtop is not sufficient protection for trackdays and will not pass a tech inspection. They all had to have a 4-point rollcage installed. Fiberglass isn't going to support the weight of a vehicle if it flips.
Not really worth dying just to do a trackday. That's why I didn't buy a convertible Vette, so I had the option to do a couple. I never got the chance to take my MR2 to the track because I didn't want to gut the interior for a rollcage.
