Dano, thanks for the pic. But I still don't see the mark.
Is it the small line on the left, kind of at the bottom of the "F" and the top of the "C"? Or is it at the bottom of the "COLD"?
When the fluid is at the top of the "F" I would think there's not enough room for expansion when cold, If I were to guess, the mark would be under the "Full" and above the "Cold". I kind of see a line on my tank there. Is that it?
Front of the tank which is facing the back of the drivers head light.
Use a flash light and you will see a raised molded line on the tank on the front of it about 3/4 up under the Black top section.
This is the full line for the tank, and if you are looking at the tank with it to the fill line, will look about half way full over all on the back side that faces the driver.
Look close on the right hand side, and you can see the raise mold line on the front of the tank/the full fill line, under the lip for the black top section, that the black top is sonic welded to on the white section lip of the tank.
Found it, thanks. With these older eyes, it's really hard to see it and use it. If you hadn't told me exactly where to look, I probably would have had to go to the dealer.
And on the C6, the full line mark is on the front of the tank towards the head lights. So coolant to the fill line when the motor is cold has the tank looking like it only 1/3 full, and plenty of room in the tank for the coolant as it heats up.
So truth is, most guys will have the tanks over filled when cold even, since the are gauging the coolant level from the side of the tank, and not from the full mark on the front of it instead.
So I am taking it as the line I drew is the top of the cold mark?

Sorry about that, the first tank with the fill information on the side I posted is for a C5 (as above), while the later tank I poster with the line up front is for the C6.
Do yourself a favor and get the coolant where it belongs by checking the end of the tank... Then take a permanent black marker and out in the exposed area on the side where you can actually see it, put a black mark at the coolant level line. This will allow you to see the coolant level by just raising the hood and looking.. No more having to try to check it by looking at the small end mark..If the coolant is up to the black mark , your good to go.....WW
